Academic Leadership Position
The new Academic Leadership position will enhance the culture of ingenuity and innovation in our classrooms by ensuring that our exceptional faculty have the opportunities, tools, and resources to take their level of instruction to even greater heights. Endowing the new Academic Leadership position will ensure the continuity of this crucial new role responsible for shaping and supporting our faculty.
Academic Strategic Plan
Fairfield Prep’s Academic Strategic Plan is a comprehensive framework for growth and Jesuit excellence over five years. Implementing the plan’s objectives, including optimizing our academic scheduling, better aligning our curriculum and mission as a Jesuit institution, and certifying our faculty in dual credit course instruction through Fairfield University will further enhance the intellectual growth of our students and faculty.
Jesuit Educators Academy
Since the early 2000s, the Jesuit Educators Academy (JEA) 1.0 has formed Fairfield Prep’s newest faculty members as Ignatian educators during their first five years, enabling them to translate Ignatian principles to their own lives, their classroom instruction, and their relationships with students and families—ultimately shaping young men who embody the qualities of a Jesuit, Catholic school graduate at graduation.
To further strengthen our Ignatian identity, Prep looks to expand JEA 1.0 by creating a program tailored to staff members, coaches, and moderators who are not full-time employees. In addition, Prep has begun designing a new veteran faculty formation program, JEA 2.0, to help established faculty continue their Ignatian journey. Endowing these exciting expansions of JEA will ensure continued Ignatian professional development for faculty and staff.
Ignatian Faculty Fellowships
Our stellar faculty are at the core of Fairfield Prep’s academic excellence and the exceptional experience we offer our young men. Ignatian Faculty Fellowships enable our educators to pursue advanced degrees and to translate their learning to the classroom. While Prep currently provides funding for faculty to earn their first master’s degree, an increasing proportion of new hires—roughly 85%—is arriving at Prep with advanced degrees already in hand. Your gift will help us recruit, retain, and cultivate the area’s top talent by providing funding for 15 faculty over five years to earn an additional advanced degree.
President’s Innovation Fund
The President’s Innovation Fund will power innovative ideas and address pressing needs identified by Fairfield Prep’s President. The fund will advance priorities such as hiring a Dean of Students and measuring student success before, during, and after a student’s time at Prep.
The Jesuits’ work at Fairfield Prep is far more of a collaborative effort than it’s ever been before. Our values-based approach to education, rooted in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, is our joint gift to a world that’s desperate for leaders of character, honor, and faith. Over the years, I’ve seen so many alumni return to Prep as parents, proud to pass on the legacy of the brotherhood to their own sons. Supporting efforts like Go Forth is yet another way to pass on the Prep tradition to future generations and to live as a man for others.
