Goal: $50 million
As our boys grow into men for others, valiantly committed to using their gifts for the greater glory of God, we nurture all aspects of their personhood, from academic success to health and wellness. Your support will equip us to impact a student’s individual journey to self-awareness and heroic leadership through social-emotional and learning support, spiritual guidance, and customized college advising.
Avenues for Committing to Care
Full-time Learning Specialist
In August 2023, Fairfield Prep added a full-time Learning Specialist to provide additional support to the Director of Academic Support and to teach Structured Study classes that promote skill development and academic growth through more individualized instruction for at-risk learners. Ensuring the continuity of this position for the next five years will enhance the learning experience for students in need of additional academic support.
Part-time Writing Specialist and Part-time Math Specialist
Math and writing are areas of particular importance for student success. Research and data have shown a decline in math skills among students of all demographics in many parts of the country. In addition, writing skills play an essential role in all courses across the curriculum. In collaboration with the Learning Specialist, content-specific specialists in math and writing will work with students one on one and in small groups to enhance these crucial skills during Structured Study classes and after school. We seek to fund these new part-time specialist positions for five years.
Kairos Retreat
The Kairos retreat is Fairfield Prep’s core Ignatian formation experience and one of the highlights of many students’ years at Prep. Currently, a participant fee covers roughly 70% of the cost to implement the program. While funding is available to help students with need, it is likely that many self-select out of the experience for financial reasons and miss out on a key component of their Jesuit, Catholic education at Prep. Endowing Kairos will ensure that every student has the opportunity to participate at little or no cost to themselves.
Principal’s Innovation Fund
The Principal’s Innovation Fund will empower Fairfield Prep’s Principal to meet the emerging needs of caring for our young men. Examples of initiatives that will better position Prep to care for the whole boy include providing the resources for faculty to expand their skills working with a variety of learning styles by enrolling in Fairfield University’s graduate level course Teaching Diverse Learners.
Barron Arts and Recreation Center
Fairfield Prep has been presented with a once-in-a-generation window of opportunity to complete our campus footprint with a fourth building. The proposed Barron Arts and Recreation Center will enable Prep to more fully fulfill our Jesuit promise of caring for all aspects of our boys’ personhood, giving them the space to build their strength, discover their voice, and share the spirit of the Prep brotherhood.

As both an alumnus and a parent, I've witnessed Fairfield Prep maintain its commitment to the same values and focus on personal development that I experienced decades ago. I've seen my sons grow academically, socially, and spiritually into young men grounded in the principles Fairfield Prep has instilled in them. We entrusted their formation to Fairfield Prep, knowing the caliber of students the school produces, and we couldn't be more proud of the outcome.
